Comparative Animal Populations

The following table from Bigfoot in Evolutionary Perspective compares different animal population estimates in California, Oregon, Washington. As stated in the book, “…ecology must play a very substantial role in explaining why bigfoot continues to elude science” (p. 251). The comparative rarity of bigfoot in relation to these other animals helps illustrate this:
